25 August 2026 · Word · WindowsWhat changed
Word’s Read Aloud now supports real-time voice interactions powered by Copilot Q&A. Previously, users had to pause reading to search or edit manually. Now, users can ask questions like “What does this mean?” or “Summarize this section” and receive immediate responses without stopping the audio.
Try this
- Open a Word document and start Read Aloud from the Review tab.
- While listening, say a question such as “Explain this paragraph.”
- Listen to Copilot’s spoken answer without pausing the reading.
